Toss Recruits Participants for Its First Technology Competition, "Next ML Challenge" Toss' First Technology Competition 'Next Machine Learning (ML) Challenge'. Toss

This competition is the first technology competition hosted by Toss.

Starting this year, Toss will publicly release real-world technical problems that machine learning (ML) engineers solve in their work, aiming to discover outstanding talent.

Participants will have the opportunity to join Toss from mid-December, and anyone interested in ML development is eligible to participate in the competition.

The theme of the competition is 'Developing an Advertisement Click-Through Rate (CTR) Prediction Model.'

The main objective is to develop an ML algorithm that can quickly and accurately predict the probability of a hypothetical user clicking on a particular advertisement, using advertising data from the Toss application.

The competition consists of two stages: preliminary and final rounds. The preliminary round will be held from September 8 to October 13. Participants' models will be evaluated using a leaderboard system that ranks them based on performance scores. The top 30 teams will advance to the final round.

The final round will take place over five days, from October 13 to 17, during which teams must submit a model development report and undergo code verification. Toss will review the submissions and announce the final winners on November 3.

The total prize pool is 10 million won. The first, second, and third place winners will receive 5 million won, 3 million won, and 2 million won, respectively. The 30 teams that advance to the final round will be exempt from the document screening stage when applying for positions at Toss. However, the available job postings may vary depending on whether the applicant is currently enrolled in school or employed. For more details, please refer to the official website of the competition organizer, Dacon.

A Toss representative stated, "Toss advertising continues to improve prediction accuracy and decision-making capabilities through machine learning technology. The Next Machine Learning Challenge will go beyond a simple technical competition to become a platform for creative solutions and future innovation."
