The online relay quiz event will be divided into three topics: high-interest illegal private loans and illegal debt collection in September, illegal financial investment and virtual asset fraud in October, and voice phishing in November.
Consumers can participate through job search platform mobile apps (AlbaMon, AlbaCheonguk, Incruit, JobKorea), the Financial Supervisory Service website, YouTube, Instagram, and other channels.
A total of 583 winners will be selected by lottery, including three first-place winners, ten second-place winners, twenty third-place winners, fifty fourth-place winners, and five hundred fifth-place winners. Prizes include a 100,000 won Shinsegae gift certificate for first place, among others.
The offline event will be held in areas with a high concentration of job seekers and young people.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service, last year, 62.5% of applicants for the agency's free debtor representative program were in their 30s or younger. From March 2023 to February this year, 69% of users of the Illegal Private Finance Prevention Loan were daily workers, the unemployed, students, or those in special types of employment.
Accordingly, on September 3, the Financial Supervisory Service will conduct a street campaign in Euljiro Entrance (Seoul Employment Welfare Plus Center) in Jung-gu, Seoul, and around Jonggak Station (Youth Street) in Jongno-gu. Leaflets and souvenirs providing information on how to prevent and respond to illegal private finance damage will be distributed.
On September 13 and 14, in cooperation with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the agency will operate a promotional booth at the Sinchon Global University Culture Festival in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul. Promotional videos will be shown and leaflets and souvenirs will be distributed.
The online and offline events will also distribute leaflets and promote the campaign through banners on government employment platforms.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Labor, leaflets will be placed at 102 Employment Welfare Plus Centers nationwide and distributed to low-credit job seekers and young people.
From this month through next month, banners will also be posted on the Employment Welfare Plus Center and Employment24 websites nationwide. These will provide information on major cases of illegal private finance damage, reporting and counseling channels, and the revised Lending Business Act.
An official from the Financial Supervisory Service stated, "The Financial Supervisory Service will continue to promote customized campaigns for vulnerable groups in cooperation with local governments, relevant ministries, and the financial sector."
