Gyeonggi Province is offering a semiconductor technology education program for third-year students at specialized high schools.
Gyeonggi Province announced that, under the supervision of the Korea Nanotechnology Research Society, it will conduct the "2025 Semiconductor Technology Education Program" for 25 third-year students from specialized high schools in the province from September 1, 2025, to December 8, 2025.
The "Nanotechnology Workforce Development Project," implemented by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and supported by Gyeonggi Province, is a project that nurtures technical talent to work at small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies by utilizing the advanced facilities and professional staff of the Korea Nanotechnology Research Society.
Since its launch in 2013, the program has produced more than 740 semiconductor technology professionals. Over 88% of these trainees have been employed by related small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies.
This year's program is divided into two tracks: employment-linked and employment-support.

The employment-linked track focuses on theoretical and practical training in all aspects of nanotechnology and semiconductor process technology, including equipment operation, design education, device fabrication practice, and semiconductor equipment maintenance. All trainees in this track will be hired as full-time employees at Amkor Technology Korea next year.
The employment-support track centers on job-oriented training for positions at semiconductor manufacturers and semiconductor assembly and testing (OSA) companies.
The entire program is free of charge. Gyeonggi Province will provide trainees with reimbursements for educational expenses, and outstanding students will receive awards from the Governor of Gyeonggi Province and the President of the Korea Nanotechnology Research Society.
Park Minkyoung, Director of the Semiconductor Industry Division at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "This education program will provide specialized high school students with practical employment opportunities and foster outstanding talent tailored to the needs of the local semiconductor industry. Gyeonggi Province will continue to make every effort to support the development of specialized semiconductor professionals in the future."
