A fishing boat operating off the coast of Goheung, South Jeolla Province, became endangered due to unexplained flooding, but all crew members were safely rescued thanks to the response of the Coast Guard and nearby fishing vessels.
The Yeosu Coast Guard announced that on the morning of August 31, a fishing boat named A (2.99 tons, 2 crew members), which was operating off the coast of Goheung County, South Jeolla Province, experienced flooding. However, all crew members were safely rescued.

According to the Yeosu Coast Guard, at around 7:03 a.m. that day, a report was received that flooding of unknown cause had occurred in the waters near Yongdang-ri, Goheung County. The Coast Guard immediately dispatched a coastal rescue boat to the scene and directed the fishing vessel Gyeongseonho, which was operating nearby, to assist in the rescue. The two crew members were promptly rescued, and both were confirmed to be in good health.
At the scene, the Coast Guard shut off the fuel valve of the accident vessel and collected the fuel tank to prevent marine pollution. They plan to investigate the exact cause of the accident.
