On August 30, Go Min-si posted a lengthy message on her social networking service (SNS), stating, "For several months, I have endured and suppressed the emotional turmoil I experienced dozens of times each day, waiting solely for the results of the investigation." She explained her reason for speaking out, saying, "I feel it is my responsibility to clarify my position, especially for those who have been waiting for an explanation."
Reflecting on her school days, she admitted, "I am more aware than anyone that there was a time when I acted recklessly and enjoyed misbehavior." However, she added, "Although I regret my shortcomings in the past, I have sincerely tried to live a better life ever since." She emphasized, "Just because I had an imperfect past does not mean I should be held responsible for things that are not true."
Go Min-si firmly denied the allegations, declaring, "I can state unequivocally that I have never committed school violence." She drew a clear line, saying, "I will admit what is true, but I will also clearly state what is not."
In particular, she explained, "The person claiming to be a victim has not been identified, and aside from the online post, there is absolutely no evidence to substantiate these claims." She continued, "I also understand that it is difficult to secure clear evidence in cases of school violence, which is why I have submitted all materials that can prove I am not the perpetrator to the investigative authorities, and the investigation is currently ongoing."
She took a strong stance, saying, "Even if it takes a long time, I will not stop until the truth is revealed regarding the allegations of school violence, including the false claims."
Go Min-si stated, "I agree that school violence, as a serious social issue, must be dealt with strictly." However, she pointed out, "Maliciously exploiting this issue distorts its essence and actually silences the voices of real victims."
She also appealed, "It is cruel that, even though I have clearly stated these claims are false, some people accept them as fact and treat them as such." She added, "I hope everyone becomes aware of how easily the internet can destroy a person and how frightening that can be." She concluded her statement by saying, "The truth will inevitably come to light."
The allegations against Go Min-si regarding school violence were first raised in May through an online community. The posters claimed to be her middle school classmates and alleged that Go Min-si had extorted money and mocked students with disabilities, among other violent behaviors. These posts quickly spread online and sparked controversy.
At the time, her agency Mystic Story refuted the claims, stating, "After checking with the actress herself, these allegations are completely untrue." The agency added, "The actress's reputation is being damaged by malicious posts based on false information," and announced, "We have appointed legal representatives and are pursuing both civil and criminal action."
Go Min-si began her acting career in 2017 with the SBS drama 'My Sassy Girl.' She has since gained recognition through dramas such as 'Love Alarm,' 'Youth of May,' and 'Sweet Home,' as well as films like 'The Witch' and 'Smugglers.' Recently, she appeared on the variety show 'Seojin's Place 2' and the Netflix series 'Honey Part-Time Job.'
