Yeongcheon City and Korea Water Resources Corporation Pohang Branch Sign MOU for Development of Dam Surrounding Areas

Yeongcheon City (Mayor Choi Kimoon) signed a mutual cooperation agreement with the Pohang Branch of Korea Water Resources Corporation on August 28 at the Yeongcheon Dam Smart Metering Center to promote projects supporting areas surrounding the dam.


This agreement was established to promote the development of the areas around the dam and to strengthen collaborative efforts for mutual growth with the local community.


The main points include revitalizing the local economy in the areas around the dam, jointly hosting and supporting local events and festivals linked to the dam, and building recycling infrastructure to achieve carbon neutrality.

The signing ceremony was attended by Jo Myunghwa, Director of the Culture, Tourism and Welfare Bureau of Yeongcheon City, Kim Jin, Head of the Pohang Branch of Korea Water Resources Corporation, and other officials, who came together to support the revitalization of the dam’s surrounding areas.


Jo Myunghwa, Director of the Culture, Tourism and Welfare Bureau, said, "In addition to this agreement and the mutual growth value practice agreement signed in June, Yeongcheon City and Korea Water Resources Corporation will continue to work together to seek sustainable regional development solutions."
