A current university professor has been arrested and indicted on charges of stalking and sexually assaulting his former partner.
According to the legal community on August 28, the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office recently indicted a man in his 50s, referred to as Mr. A, on charges including trespassing and rape, as well as violations of the Act on Punishment of Stalking Crimes.
Mr. A is alleged to have repeatedly broken into the home of Ms. B, a woman with whom he previously had a romantic relationship, and committed sexual assault over a period of about two months starting in April. While working as a university professor, he committed these crimes after being unable to accept the breakup with Ms. B.
The prosecution has also discovered evidence that Mr. A illegally filmed the crime scenes and is investigating whether there are additional offenses.
