Threatening Fax Claims Explosives Planted at Several Seoul High Schools... Sent Under Japanese Lawyer's Name

Students were evacuated after a threatening fax claiming that explosives had been planted at six high schools in Seoul was received.

According to police on August 28, Seocho Police Station, Seongbuk Police Station, and other precincts in Seoul received reports that a threatening fax had been sent to local high schools earlier that morning.

The police determined that the fax was identical to previous messages sent under the name of a Japanese lawyer and assessed the threat level as low, but increased patrols in the area as a precaution.

Recently, a series of threatening faxes claiming that explosives had been planted have been sent to Seoul City Hall as well as elementary and middle schools throughout Seoul.
