Busan Office of Education Presents Government Honors to 337 Retiring Teachers

Awards and Honors Presented to 337 Retiring Teachers
Including 12 Recipients of the Hwangjo Geunjeong Medal

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) awarded government honors to 337 retiring teachers-including those retiring due to age limit, voluntary retirement, and other reasons-at the main auditorium of the office on the afternoon of August 27.

This recognition was given to 146 teachers retiring due to age limit, 189 teachers retiring voluntarily, and 2 teachers retiring for other reasons.


The awardees included: 12 recipients of the Hwangjo Geunjeong Medal, 93 recipients of the Hongjo Geunjeong Medal, 85 recipients of the Nokjo Geunjeong Medal, 113 recipients of the Okjo Geunjeong Medal, 25 recipients of the Geunjeong Medal, 6 recipients of the Presidential Citation, and 3 recipients of the Prime Minister’s Citation.


On the day of the ceremony, Superintendent Kim Seokjun expressed, "I extend my deepest gratitude and respect for every step you have taken in dedicating yourselves to the growth and dreams of children in the field of education for decades," and added, "Although your teaching careers have come to a close, I sincerely hope your warm affection for Busan education and our children will continue unchanged in the future."
