The "2025 International Symposium on Traditional Medicine," hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (Minister Jeong Eun-kyeong) and organized by the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development (Acting President Lee Hwa-dong), will be held at Ferrum Hall in Ferrum Tower, Seoul, on September 9 and 10.
Under the theme "Korean Medicine Meets Artificial Intelligence: A New Future for Traditional Medicine," the symposium will bring together 18 experts from seven countries, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Germany, Japan, and China. They will discuss topics such as innovation in traditional medicine through artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, international standards, and strategies for global cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO).
In particular, the significance of the recent official recognition of Korean medicine licenses by the UAE government and the strong local interest will be directly addressed by a representative from the Abu Dhabi government.
The program will begin with a special keynote lecture by an AI expert, "Making People Healthier Through Technology: Kakao Healthcare," followed by five sessions: △ Innovation Strategies for Traditional Medicine Using AI and Big Data △ International Standards and Global Cooperation Strategies for Traditional Medicine △ Expansion of Overseas Markets and Growth Opportunities for the Traditional Medicine Industry △ International Health Cooperation and the New WHO Strategy on Traditional Medicine △ Future Strategies to Attract More International Patients for Korean Medicine.
All sessions will be broadcast live both onsite and online simultaneously.
