Opening Ceremony and Promotional Team Inauguration Set for September 1
Mapo-gu in Seoul (headed by Mayor Park Kangsu) will officially launch the integrated mobile platform "Mapo Sangsaeng App," which connects local commercial districts and tourist resources, on September 1.
The Mapo Sangsaeng App was developed under the slogan "A Good Tourism Platform for Local Small Businesses." It provides information on 11 major commercial districts and key tourist attractions in the area, and offers a variety of features such as store information search, walking navigation, and multilingual guidance, enhancing convenience for both tourists and residents.
Additionally, the app differentiates itself with experiential tourism content, including AR photo certification and game elements. Users can search by business type-such as restaurants, cafes, hospitals, and pharmacies-and check detailed information including business hours, menus, delivery, and parking availability. Real-time operation status, ticket reservation, payment, and refund for the Mapo Circulation Train Bus, which began operation in May, can also be handled seamlessly within the app.
Updates on district administration and event information are also integrated and provided through the app. By linking with Mapo-gu’s official social network services, website, and newsletter, residents can easily access the latest news.
Events are being held ahead of the official launch. Until August 31, users who download the app and participate in the initial consonant quiz will be entered into a draw to win mobile coupons, with 100 winners selected. Throughout September, there will be download verification and Circulation Train Bus ticket verification events, offering first-come, first-served prizes and additional raffle prizes.
The official launch ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. on September 1 at Mapo Central Library. The event will include an introduction to the app’s features, a promotional video screening, and the inauguration of the Mapo Sangsaeng App promotional team, with participation from local merchants and residents.
Mayor Park Kangsu stated, "The Mapo Sangsaeng App is the first integrated platform in a district to bring together local commercial districts and tourism. It will offer convenience to residents, new opportunities to small business owners, and serve as a gateway to introduce Mapo’s unique hidden charms to tourists. We will continue to reflect residents’ feedback to provide better services and benefits, so that more people can enjoy all that Mapo has to offer."
