The original soundtrack (OST) "Golden" from the Netflix animated film "K-Pop Demon Hunters" has topped the main singles chart, the Billboard Hot 100, for the second consecutive week in the United States.

On the 25th (local time), Billboard announced in its chart preview article that "'Golden' climbed one spot from the previous week to claim the number one position for the second week overall." The song debuted at number 81 in early last month and reached the top after seven weeks, first hitting number one on the 11th of this month before reclaiming the top spot a week later.

During the latest tracking period, "Golden" recorded 33.8 million streams, a 3% increase from the previous week. Its radio airplay audience grew by 39% to 16.2 million, and sales rose by 11% to 8,000. Billboard commented, "Unlike typical K-pop hits that tend to perform well in album sales and downloads, this track has shown steady growth in the streaming market, fueled by the success of the animated film."

The song "Golden," performed by the fictional K-pop girl group Huntrix in the film, features contributions from Korean-American composer Lee Jae, singer Audrey Nuna, and Ray Ami. It is the first song by a female K-pop artist to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and it also topped the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, simultaneously conquering the two major global charts. So far, only two other K-pop songs have held the number one spot on the Hot 100 for more than two weeks: BTS's "Butter" (10 weeks) and "Dynamite" (3 weeks).

The OST tracks from "K-Pop Demon Hunters" are enjoying widespread popularity. This week, a total of four songs from the film entered the Hot 100's top 10 simultaneously: "Your Idol" (4th place) and "Soda Pop" (5th place) by the in-film group Sajaboys, and another Huntrix track, "How It's Done" (10th place). This marks the first time in Billboard history that multiple tracks from a single soundtrack have entered the chart simultaneously.

The film is also making waves at the box office. On August 23 and 24, Netflix held special "sing-along" screenings across North America, attracting audiences to 1,700 theaters, with more than 1,000 of those screenings selling out. Bloomberg commented, "For Netflix, which typically does not target box office revenue with its original films, this is a rare achievement." In the United States, the film topped the box office for two days, generating an estimated 28 billion won in revenue.
