Nomus announced on August 26 that it will accelerate its entry into the Chinese market by strengthening collaboration with Zhangyang Xiaomang, the chairman of the board who is recognized as a global intellectual property (IP) business expert in China. Previously, Nomus had announced that it signed a strategic partnership and service agreement with a Chinese state-owned capital platform.
Chairman Zhang has built his expertise and proven his capabilities by holding key positions at leading Chinese IT and media companies such as Alibaba Group and Mango TV. In particular, while overseeing the e-commerce division at Xiaomang under Hunan Broadcasting System, he achieved a sevenfold year-on-year increase in gross merchandise value (GMV) in 2022.
In 2023, he expanded the user base to 150 million, further solidifying his market position. He also successfully led content businesses targeting local Millennials & Gen Z, such as planning the youth growth variety program "100 Degree Guangmang (Du Guangmang)" and attracting a startup fund worth 100 million yuan.
Additionally, he pioneered the convergence model of commerce and entertainment by producing music performances such as "Nanpaman Summer Day Party" and the mock variety show "Jiaoyou." Beyond his business achievements, he has been recognized as an "Outstanding Party Affairs Worker" by a directly affiliated institution of Hunan Province. At the National Broadcasting, TV, and Network Viewing Report Conference, he was commended as an "Advanced Individual," acknowledging him as an outstanding talent in broadcasting and media.
Nomus plans to expand its partnerships with leading Chinese platforms such as Xiaomang under Hunan Broadcasting System and Mango TV, leveraging Chairman Zhang's accumulated business achievements and public stature. In particular, the company aims to fully launch its artist intellectual property (IP) and fandom platform business.
A company representative stated, "Chairman Zhangyang is not only a business expert in e-commerce and content IP in China, but also possesses an extensive personal network," adding, "Through this collaboration, we expect to further accelerate the entry of Korean artists and IP into the Chinese market."
