Story Concerts, Lectures, and Performances for Youth
A Variety of Cultural Experiences Await Young Participants

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on August 26 that it will host the '2025 Youth Culture Week' at a multi-purpose cultural space in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, from August 29 to 30.

Youth Culture Week is a festival designed to reflect the policy direction of "establishing a cultural foundation for youth growth." It aims to diagnose and empathize with the lives and realities of young people from a cultural perspective, as well as to understand and gather opinions from the younger generation.

This year's theme for Youth Culture Week is "How to Use Youth Culture: Four Rooms." The event is designed so that young people can go through four stages-exploration, connection, inspiration, and execution-discovering their own tastes and lifestyles, and designing their own "cultural usage methods." In particular, four rooms-'Room of Exploration,' 'Room of Connection,' 'Room of Inspiration,' and 'Room of Execution'-will be set up in Seongsu-dong, an area with a high youth population, so participants can experience each stage. Through this, young people are offered opportunities to encounter culture from new perspectives and to imagine their futures.

Among these, the Room of Inspiration will feature story concerts, lectures, and performances where participants can meet speakers from various fields and young artists. At the story concert, Lee Ji-hyun, CEO of Neolwihan Munhwa Yesul, Im Soo-yeol, CEO of Frientrip, and Lee Ho-young, CEO of Toonsquare, will speak on "People Who Create Work in New Ways." K-pop choreographer Hyojin Choi will address the topic "My Choices Are Not Always the Answer." Jo Aran, manager at Minumsa, along with writers Kim Gyeoul and Jung Yongjun, will discuss "How a Writer's Sentence Reaches the World." Former Kia Tigers pitcher Yoon Sukmin will share stories under the theme "The Stage Has Changed, But I Am Still Preparing," offering diverse perspectives on life.

Additionally, Kang Ji-hye, editor of Carit, a publication covering the latest trends, will speak on "The Direction of Current Youth Tastes." Kim Ji-seop, director at AI startup RYUTEN Technologies, will lecture on "The Sensibility of Using Artificial Intelligence Well." There will also be performances by singer-songwriter Kim Mari, hip-hop duo Ijjananeunjjana, the traditional Korean music-based electronic band 64ksana, and a performance by the band Jipseom, along with Kyeon Min-jeong, CEO of In the Cave, who operates "Star Light Live," a youth culture and arts talent sponsorship project by Starbucks Korea.

The Rooms of Exploration, Connection, and Execution will also host a variety of events. In the Room of Exploration, young people can discover their interests and preferences through activities such as finding their cultural tendencies and making cultural keychains. The Room of Connection will feature booths from various youth clubs in literature, sports, and music, providing opportunities to broaden experiences. There will also be a promotional booth for "Garden of Youth Voices," an online platform for youth policy proposals operated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's youth advisors, to connect young people's opinions with policy suggestions. In the Room of Execution, participants will have the chance to put their exploration and connections into practice through activities such as personal journaling methods, decorative handwriting, and sports experiences, allowing young people to directly build cultural experiences.

This year's Youth Culture Week will be free of charge, and anyone can register in advance through the Naver Reservation website until August 28.

Lee Jeong-mi, Director of Cultural Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated, "I hope this year's Youth Culture Week will be an opportunity for young people to enrich their lives through culture. The Ministry will continue to provide a solid foundation so that young people can enjoy culture, expand their possibilities, and dream of the future through culture, always staying close to them."
