Ordinance Bill on Support Introduced
"Improving Safety Blind Spots"
Park Sunbeom, Chairperson of the Construction and Firefighting Committee of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Assembly (People Power Party, Chilgok 2), sponsored the "Ordinance Bill on Supporting Repairs for Aging Homes of Vulnerable Groups in Gyeongbuk Province" at the 357th temporary session of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Assembly on August 25 and passed the committee review.
This newly established ordinance bill provides a legal basis for systematically offering financial and technical support for the repair of aging homes, specifically targeting vulnerable groups living in houses that have been in use for more than 20 years since approval in various areas of Gyeongbuk Province. The aim is to help these groups live in safer and more comfortable residential environments.
The main contents include establishing and implementing support plans for repairing aging homes of vulnerable groups, defining the scope and budget of repair support projects for homes owned or inhabited by vulnerable groups, and providing technical advice related to the repair of aging homes.
Assemblyman Park Sunbeom stated, "This ordinance bill is about creating an institutional safety net that prioritizes the residential safety of vulnerable groups," and added, "We will proactively address the safety blind spots caused by the aging of homes for vulnerable groups and realize tangible residential welfare for the residents of the province."
The ordinance bill is scheduled for a plenary vote on September 4, and if passed, it is expected to greatly contribute to strengthening the residential safety net and improving residential welfare for vulnerable groups within the province.
