Two Airstrikes on the Fourth Floor of Nasser Hospital Building
Israeli Military Frequently Targets Civilian Facilities
On the 25th (local time), the Israeli military conducted an airstrike on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of 15 people, including four journalists.
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, which is controlled by the Palestinian armed group Hamas, announced that the fourth floor of the Nasser Hospital building in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, was bombed by an Israeli airstrike that morning.

The Gaza Ministry of Health stated that rescue workers arrived at the scene to transport the casualties, but a second attack followed immediately after. The Gaza Civil Defense, also controlled by Hamas, told foreign media outlets such as AFP that a total of 15 people were killed in the airstrike, including four journalists and one rescue worker. The deceased journalists were confirmed to be affiliated with AP, NBC, Reuters, and Al Jazeera. Israel has not yet released an official statement regarding this airstrike.
Nasser Hospital is one of the largest medical facilities in the Gaza Strip and has been targeted multiple times by Israeli airstrikes since the surprise attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023. The Israeli military claims that it attacks such locations because Hamas fighters hide in civilian facilities such as hospitals, schools, and refugee camps to launch surprise attacks.
According to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), since the start of the Israel-Hamas war, 192 journalists have been killed in the Gaza Strip, far exceeding the number of journalists (18) killed so far in the Russia-Ukraine war.
Meanwhile, Israel is blocking access to the Gaza Strip for foreign media. As a result, local journalists are either employed by Western media outlets or report directly through social networking services (SNS). The Israeli side suspects that some of these local journalists may be linked to Hamas.
