Muan County in South Jeolla Province is now recruiting participants for the mid- and short-term tracks of the 2025 Youth Challenge Support Project.

According to the county on August 25, the project was selected in a public contest by the Ministry of Employment and Labor in February. The Jeollanam-do Small and Medium Business Job and Economy Promotion Agency, the designated implementing organization, is now officially operating the program.

Eligible applicants include: ▲ young people who have given up on job seeking ▲ youth preparing for independence ▲ youth entering or leaving youth welfare facilities ▲ North Korean defector youth ▲ regionally specialized youth, among others. A total of 60 participants will be selected and provided with tailored programs.

The program offers short-term (5 weeks), mid-term (15 weeks), and long-term (25 weeks) courses. Recruitment for the long-term course closed in April, and this round is for the 3-month mid-term and 1-month short-term courses.

In particular, applications for the mid-term course will be accepted until the end of August. Participants can take part in a variety of career experience programs, including health management, cultural activities, entrepreneurship, and tourism. Through these activities, they will gain hands-on experience and have the opportunity to plan a career path that suits them.

Applicants must be unemployed youth aged 18 to 34 who, in the past six months, have not been enrolled in employment insurance, operated a business, received education, or participated in vocational training. However, according to Muan County ordinances, residents under the age of 45 who are defined as youth are also eligible. Applications can be submitted online through the Employment24 website.
