The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Arts Management Support Center announced on August 25 that, in line with the '2025 Korea Art Festival,' they will host the program '2025 Dive into Korean Art' from August 31 to September 3. Fourteen key figures from the international art world will be invited to visit the studios of eight emerging and mid-career Korean artists and artist teams.

'2025 Dive into Korean Art' is a program designed to support the international advancement of Korean artists who are actively working at the forefront of contemporary art. Art world professionals from abroad, including museum directors, curators, and visual arts journalists, will be invited to visit the artists' studios and gain an understanding of their artistic philosophies and creative worlds. This initiative is expected to showcase the diversity and dynamism of Korean contemporary art to the global art community and serve as a meaningful opportunity to build international networks.


The participating artists and teams include Kwon Byungjun, Kim Minae, Park Minha, IkkibawiKrrr, Lee Jooyo, Choi Goeun, Choi Wonjun (Afro-Asia Collective), and Han Sunwoo. Notable international invitees include Stefanie Hessler (Director, Swiss Institute New York), Victor Wang (Artistic Director, Artspace), Liz Park (Richard Armstrong Curator of Contemporary Art, Carnegie Museum of Art), and Hera Chan (Adjunct Curator, Tate Modern), among others.


In addition, participants will have the opportunity to visit major domestic exhibitions at institutions such as the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the Seoul Museum of Art. The talk program 'Creating Art Together, Opening the Future Together' will also be held as part of the event.

The Arts Management Support Center will co-organize and host the talk program '2025 Kiaf SEOUL x KAMS x Frieze Seoul' with Kiaf and Frieze Seoul from September 4 to 6 at Studio 159 on the 2nd floor of COEX. Comprising nine sessions, the program will address key contemporary art topics such as the role of art foundations, Asian queer art, and global issues in art. Featured speakers include Lee Sol (Associate Professor of Art History, Stony Brook University), Lee Jisun (16th President, School of the Art Institute of Chicago), Kataoka Mami (Director, Mori Art Museum), Kim Sanghoon (Professor, Seoul National University), and Kim Ahyoung (Artist).


The talk sessions will cover topics such as 'The Structural Ecology of Art Foundations and the Art World,' 'Queer Asian Art and the Technology of Memory,' artist talk 'Artistic Construction Between Reality and Virtual Worlds,' 'Participatory Art in Asia in an Era of Change,' 'Driving Forces of Change: Seoul's Emerging Galleries and the Contemporary Art Ecosystem,' 'Korean Artists Today: Accidental Worlds,' 'The Status of the Korean Art Market from an International Perspective,' and 'Reconsidering Creativity: New Horizons in Art.' Sessions titled 'Korean Artists Today: Accidental Worlds' and 'The Status of the Korean Art Market from an International Perspective' will be held multiple times.

Attendance is free of charge, and anyone can participate on a first-come, first-served basis without a Kiaf or Frieze admission ticket. The sessions will also be broadcast live online via the official Kiaf YouTube channel.
