14 Students Participate
Strengthening Global Job Competencies Through Local Business and Cultural Experiences
Dongui Science College (President Kim Youngdo) announced on August 25 that 14 of its students participated in the "2025 Blue Ladder (Type 1)" overseas training program in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from July 12 to August 9.
This program is a government-supported initiative organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Student Aid Foundation. It was designed to provide students who face difficulties gaining overseas experience due to their social or economic backgrounds with opportunities to explore global career paths.
Before departure, the participants completed orientation, career mentoring, and safety training. In Malaysia, they attended an intensive ESL English course at Berjaya University College and visited local companies and organizations to strengthen their global job competencies. They also took part in various experiential activities by exploring major cultural heritage sites and city landmarks in Malaysia, such as Batu Caves, Royal Selangor, Petronas Twin Towers, Merdeka Square, and Pasar Seni.
The participating students enhanced their practical skills and cultural understanding by directly observing and learning about the coexistence of traditional industries and modern cities, religious diversity, and trends in global industrial development.
Kim Taewoo, a student from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, shared his thoughts, saying, "It was a valuable experience that allowed me to connect the global cultures learned in class with real-life settings, and to develop an attitude of respecting and understanding other cultures."
Kim Taekyung, Director of the Office of International Cooperation at Dongui Science College, stated, "This training program was a valuable opportunity for students to experience the world and plan their professional identities and futures. We will continue to expand experience-based global programs, rather than theory-centered ones, to strengthen our students' international competencies."
In addition to this training, Dongui Science College is enhancing its global competitiveness as a regionally based vocational college by operating a variety of internationalization programs, including global field training and the Cheonghaejin College initiative.
