Business Agreement Signed with Software-Centered University Council
Joint Curriculum for the AI Era and Open-Source Expertise
The Korea Copyright Commission and the Software-Centered University Council announced on the 25th that they have signed a business agreement to foster open-source experts and promote a culture of proper open-source usage.

With the recent advancement of artificial intelligence, education on open-source licenses has become increasingly important. Accordingly, the two organizations agreed to cooperate in five major areas: strengthening education and information exchange on open-source licenses; jointly operating curricula for proper open-source utilization; co-hosting computer program copyright education and seminars for Software-Centered Universities; collaborating to nurture open-source license experts; and advancing the open-source ecosystem by leveraging the resources and networks of both organizations.
Kang Seokwon, Chairman of the Korea Copyright Commission, said, "Proper understanding and use of open-source licenses are key elements of technological competitiveness," adding, "Through this agreement, we are able to contribute to fostering future talent who will lead the software industry."
Shin Yongtae, President of the Software-Centered University Council, stated, "Proper awareness and competency in open-source are essential qualifications for future talent in the software and AI fields," and expressed hope that "the educational capabilities of Software-Centered Universities will expand into the copyright domain as well."
