Five-Week Intensive Inspection from August 25 to September 26
Daejeon City will conduct safety inspections and crackdowns on potential hazards to create a safe environment around schools for children.
To coincide with the start of the second semester, the city will carry out a five-week intensive cleanup of illegal advertisements from August 25 to September 26, aiming to ensure a safe commuting environment for students and foster their healthy emotional development.
This initiative will involve local districts, related organizations, and private groups, focusing on: ▲ safety inspections of old signboards along school zones and nearby commuting routes, ▲ removal of advertisements that threaten children's pedestrian safety, and ▲ crackdowns on illegal advertisements such as obscene or indecent flyers.
In particular, the city will also crack down on illegal postings, including political banners installed in school zones.
Choi Eunyoung, Director of Urban Landscape at Daejeon City, stated, "We ask for citizens' cooperation in eradicating illegal advertisements so that children can commute to school with peace of mind," adding, "We will do our utmost to create a safe and pleasant urban environment."
