to Create Spaces That Truly Resonate With Citizens
On August 21, Changwon Special City announced that Acting Mayor Jang Geumyong, together with key executives, visited the sites of the recently controversial Bigtree Complex Development Project and Moms Free Zone Complex Cultural Space to inspect the progress and discuss future improvement directions.

The Bigtree project was launched with the goal of creating a new landmark representing Changwon. However, citizens have expressed dissatisfaction because the actual exterior differs from the original rendering, and the lack of public input during the design modification process has also been pointed out as an issue.
Although a total of 25 billion KRW was invested in the Moms Free Zone, only the exterior has been completed so far. The construction of interior facilities, operational planning, and content development are still needed. In addition, improvements are required for user convenience, such as dedicated parking and public transportation accessibility.
Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "Since both Bigtree and Moms Free Zone are projects that citizens have high expectations for, it is essential to accurately identify the current issues and ensure substantial improvements are made." He emphasized, "We must actively work to complete these projects as spaces that citizens can truly experience."
He added, "Going forward, we must actively incorporate citizen feedback throughout the entire process and do our utmost to address key issues based on the principle of public interest."
Meanwhile, Changwon Special City plans to implement on-site follow-up measures in stages, focusing on areas that need improvement, and will continue to develop practical solutions that resonate with citizens.
