President Lee Jae Myung will hold a dinner meeting with Korean-Americans in Washington, D.C. on August 24. The following day, on August 25, he is scheduled to have a Korea-U.S. summit with President Donald Trump, attend events with figures from the business and academic sectors, and then visit Philadelphia on August 26 to inspect the Hanwha shipyard.


Kang Yoo Jung, spokesperson for the Presidential Office, announced this to the press on August 21.


Before visiting the United States, President Lee will visit Japan on August 23. Upon arrival in Japan on August 23, he will hold a luncheon meeting with Korean residents in Japan, and in the afternoon, he will have a Korea-Japan summit and dinner with Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. On August 24, one day later, he will meet with key members of the Japanese parliament and depart for the United States on the same day.


Spokesperson Kang stated, "Further details regarding the schedule and summit agenda will be provided by National Security Advisor Wi Seong Rak during a press briefing on the afternoon of August 22, the day before departure."
