Intensive Inspections of Major Water Play Areas Including Jirisan Valleys
Full-Scale Efforts to Prevent Water Accidents Amid Lingering Summer Heat
Baek Samjong, Deputy Governor of Hamyang County, Gyeongnam, conducted an on-site inspection of major water play areas in Macheon-myeon to prevent water-related accidents during the summer season.
This inspection was carried out as a measure to prevent safety accidents and protect lives, in response to the continued increase in vacationers visiting valleys near Jirisan due to the ongoing heatwave and lingering summer heat.
At the site, Deputy Governor Baek thoroughly checked the management status of life jackets and safety facilities, whether access to hazardous areas was blocked, and whether safety signs were properly installed, directly inspecting the overall state of water safety.
In particular, Deputy Governor Baek instructed the reinforcement of safety measures, such as adding more life jackets and rescue equipment, for water play areas that pass through private properties like pensions where recent water accidents have occurred, as well as for popular spots frequently visited by local residents and tourists. He also took time to encourage safety management personnel who are responsible for on-site safety in the heat and listened to their concerns.
Deputy Governor Baek Samjong stated, "Accidents happen in a moment of carelessness," and emphasized, "The safety of our residents is the top priority of the administration, and we will focus all administrative resources until the very end to prevent water-related accidents during the summer."
Meanwhile, Hamyang County is operating a special water safety management period until September 30 and is continuously promoting proactive, field-oriented administration to prevent safety accidents.
