100g for 788 Won... Emart Sells Fresh Blue Crabs at Lowest Price in 10 Years

The price of 788 won per 100g is the lowest "10-year record low" since 2015. Even in 2010, when major discount stores actively promoted blue crabs, the initial price for fresh blue crabs during the season was in the high 800 won range per 100g.

From the 25th to the 28th, Emart plans to sell blue crabs at 985 won per 100g for Shinsegae Point members. Considering that the price of blue crabs in November last year was 1,980 won per 100g, this represents a discount of up to about 60%.

For this promotion, Emart has prepared over 100 tons of blue crabs for the four-day period. Over the course of the eight-day event, a total of more than 150 tons will be available. Traders and Everyday will also support the event by offering blue crabs at up to 40% off from the 21st to the 28th.

Emart formed a direct distribution network for blue crabs by collaborating with about 50 fishing vessels and lowered prices through integrated purchasing with Traders and Everyday.

Lee Sujeong, Emart's blue crab buyer, said, "Emart is kicking off this autumn's blue crab season with the lowest price in 10 years and the largest supply from the very start," adding, "We will continue to invest in pricing with a customer-first approach and strive to ensure that our customers can purchase fresh, seasonal seafood at affordable prices."
