A Total of 305 New Jobs Expected
Six leading domestic companies are set to establish or relocate their business sites to Ansan Advanced Defense Industry Complex, Jangdae Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex, and Dungok District Industrial Complex in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon.
On August 20, Daejeon City signed a financial business agreement (MOU) with six promising domestic companies in the city hall's main conference room, securing a total investment of 87.3 billion KRW.
The six companies are expected to create 305 new jobs.
The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, Jung Taehee, Chairman of the Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as the following company representatives: Gil Youngman, CEO of Gasroad Co., Ltd.; Jung Sunggeun, CEO of MID Co., Ltd.; Kim Dongwan, Vice President of Walkern Space Co., Ltd.; Choi Youngjong, CEO of Innowill Co., Ltd.; Ko Sungho, Vice President of Tomocube Co., Ltd.; and Yoon Jongsik, CEO of Pixoneer Co., Ltd.
The agreement includes provisions for the relocation and establishment of companies in Daejeon, support from the city for smooth investment processes, creation of new jobs, and mutual cooperation for regional economic development.
First, Ansan Advanced Defense Industry Complex in Yuseong-gu will house Gasroad Co., Ltd., a specialist in combustion and propulsion system development; Innowill Co., Ltd., a company specializing in the development and manufacturing of ultra-high-efficiency heat exchangers; and Pixoneer Co., Ltd., a company specializing in research and development of weapon system software.
Tomocube Co., Ltd., a technology company based on holotomography, is also planning to move into Jangdae Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex in Yuseong-gu.
Additionally, Walkern Space Co., Ltd., a developer of robotic satellites for in-orbit servicing, plans to invest in the Dungok District Industrial Complex.
MID Co., Ltd., which develops space-grade memory and high-reliability electronic component packages using ceramic materials, will invest in expanding its production capacity at the Pyeongchon General Industrial Complex in Seo-gu.
Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, said, "I would like to thank the companies for choosing Daejeon as their growth partner despite challenging economic conditions," emphasizing, "Daejeon is now more than just a city where companies stay; it is a city that grows with businesses and leaps onto the global stage."
He added, "The city will continue to provide generous administrative and financial support to the companies that believed in Daejeon's potential and made bold decisions."
