This drill was carried out as a realistic, hands-on exercise, simulating an actual emergency in response to heightened public concern over safety following recent large-scale fires and resulting casualties. The entire process was reviewed, from the issuance of a fire alarm and evacuation of employees, to rescue operations and fire suppression.

According to the company’s own emergency response manual and the National Fire Agency’s disaster site Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), a fire alarm was immediately issued throughout the building upon the simulated outbreak, and all employees and on-site personnel in the 23-story building were guided by floor evacuation leaders to evacuate via emergency stairways to a designated safety zone on the first floor.

Internally organized fire response teams conducted specialized drills by division, including calling 119, performing rescue operations, and suppressing the fire. The exercise concluded with fire trucks from the local fire station arriving on-site to extinguish the fire.

In addition, employees received hands-on training in the outdoor parking lot on how to use fire extinguishers, including live discharge practice. Indoors, CPR training was conducted using automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and emergency first aid kits, further strengthening each employee’s emergency response capabilities.

In line with this drill, BNK Financial Group also reorganized its in-house fire response teams at each affiliate and provided fire safety training and education to employees, aiming to promote a culture of safety throughout the group. The company plans to continue taking proactive measures so that all employees are equipped with practical, field-oriented response skills.

A BNK Financial Group representative stated, "The safety of our customers and employees is a value that takes precedence over any business performance," adding, "BNK will create a secure financial environment for the local community through thorough preparation and ongoing training."

On August 13, BNK Financial Group signed a Financial business agreement (MOU) with NICE Information Service and Korea Enterprise Data to promote the 'Corporate Industrial Accident Awareness Improvement Project' for small and medium-sized enterprises in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region. The group is working to establish a practical safety infrastructure by providing data-driven risk factor assessments, safety and health evaluations and consulting, and financial support for the introduction of industrial accident prevention facilities, targeting companies with high rates of industrial accidents.
