A family camp was held to foster future character traits such as proactive character, humane character, and community-oriented character, with three generations participating together.

On August 19, the Daejeon Seobu Office of Education hosted the "2025 Our Family Harmony Camp" at the Korea Center for Filial Piety Culture, with 31 elementary school students and their families from the western district in attendance.

This camp was organized as part of the 2025 Main Character Project, aiming to cultivate students' upright character and to create a character-friendly culture in connection with families and the local community.

Under the theme "Harmony Connecting Generations through Filial Piety, Etiquette, and Tradition," students, parents, and grandparents participated together in traditional etiquette and mother-of-pearl craft experiences, spending time communicating and bonding as a family.

In particular, the camp strengthened the will to continuously practice proper behavior through character education linked with the family. It also focused on understanding the value of tradition and culture, as well as inheriting and developing traditions for a sustainable future.

One participating family shared, "It was a valuable opportunity for our three generations-grandparents, parents, and children-to communicate and show consideration for each other," adding, "We will strive to practice filial piety and etiquette together as a family in our daily lives."

Choi Yoonyoung, Director of Early Childhood and Elementary Education at the Daejeon Seobu Office of Education, stated, "The starting point of character education is the family, and it is important for character education to involve the family, school, and society together." She added, "We will continue to work toward revitalizing the Main Character Project by encouraging the participation of students and parents in educational activities."
