Free Myeongdong Cathedral Docent Program Open to Non-Catholics

660 Participants to Be Recruited for Myeongdong Cathedral Docent Program
33 Sessions Scheduled from September 10 to November 29 on a First-Come, First-Served Basis

The Public Relations Committee of the Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul announced that it is recruiting participants for the '2025 Second Half Myeongdong Cathedral Docent Program' on a first-come, first-served basis. The program will be held 33 times in total, with 20 participants per session, from September 10 to November 29. The total number of participants is 660.

Applications can be submitted on the official website of the Myeongdong Cathedral Docent Tour Program, managed by the Public Relations Committee of the Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul. Non-Catholics are also eligible to apply. If a group of 15 to 20 people wishes to participate together, they can fill out a separate application form to have an exclusive tour at a designated time during the program period.


A representative from the Public Relations Committee stated, "According to a satisfaction survey of participants in the Myeongdong Cathedral Docent Program, the program has been rated as 'an excellent opportunity to enjoy top-level docent commentary for free,'" and emphasized, "As all sessions are fully booked almost instantly through word of mouth, it is essential to make a reservation as soon as registration opens."


Father Lee Jaehyup, the official in charge at the Public Relations Committee of the Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul, said, "We are also preparing an 'English Docent Program at Myeongdong Cathedral' with the goal of launching it next year."


The Myeongdong Cathedral Docent Program is a one-hour tour inside and outside Myeongdong Cathedral, introducing participants to the story of Korean Catholicism, the architectural history of the cathedral, and its collection of artworks. Since 2019, it has been operated by the Public Relations Committee of the Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul.
