Collaboration Products Featuring Huntrix and Lion Boys Characters
to Launch at the End of August
Nongshim is teaming up with Netflix to actively engage with global fans through the diverse characters and universe of the internationally popular animation "K-Pop Demon Hunters."
As the first step of this collaboration, starting at the end of this month, Nongshim will launch collaboration products featuring characters from K-Pop Demon Hunters-such as LUMI, MIRA, JOY of the Huntrix, the Lion Boys, and the tiger Duffy-on the packaging of Shin Ramyun, Saewookkang, and the new sauce product "Shin Ramyun Tumba All-Purpose Sauce" both in Korea and overseas. These collaborative products will be available in limited quantities, focusing on major countries in Korea, North America, Europe, Oceania, and Southeast Asia.
Additionally, Nongshim will release a limited-edition K-Pop Demon Hunters special product that reflects the design of the cup noodles eaten by LUMI, MIRA, and JOY in the animation. The company also plans to conduct various collaborative marketing activities, including SNS events, digital content, and offline pop-up events, to connect with global fans.
Since its Netflix release in June, K-Pop Demon Hunters has been building a global fandom as word spread about its realistic depiction of various aspects of Korean culture, such as K-pop and K-food. In particular, the frequent appearance of ramen-a representative K-food and one of the most iconic Korean foods-has naturally drawn attention to Nongshim, Korea's leading ramen maker, which is a key reason behind this collaboration.
In fact, among domestic fans, the ramen and snacks featured in the animation became a hot topic, as they reminded viewers of the Nongshim brand. Fans pointed out that the "Shin (辛) Ramyun" in the animation, the similarly pronounced "Dongshim," and snacks resembling Saewookkang all suggest that the ramen and snacks in the show are inspired by Nongshim products.
A Nongshim representative stated, "This collaboration became possible thanks to consumers voluntarily discovering and joyfully sharing Nongshim within K-Pop Demon Hunters. Just as K-Pop Demon Hunters has introduced K-culture to the world, Nongshim will also sincerely promote the taste and value of K-ramyun and K-snacks to global consumers together with K-Pop Demon Hunters."
