The meeting was attended by Kang Suhyun, Mayor of Yangju, the Deputy Mayor, heads of relevant departments and divisions, department heads, and representatives from the consulting agency. The results of the consulting service and future directions for improvement were shared.
This consulting service was carried out with support from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Fire Safety Grant Tax. Its main components included diagnosing the status of compliance with the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, providing training for managers of major citizen disaster facilities, and conducting on-site inspections of a sample of 50 applicable facilities.
Facilities closely related to citizens' daily lives, such as city hall, health centers, administrative welfare centers, senior welfare centers, daycare centers, bridges, and underpasses, were also included in the inspection targets.
Yangju City plans to establish action plans for each department regarding outstanding issues identified during the meeting, and to ensure prompt implementation of improvements through safety and health education as well as on-site consulting.
Mayor Kang Suhyun emphasized, "Safety is the foundation of all projects and a shared responsibility of all departments, not just a specific one," and urged, "Please do your utmost to protect the lives and safety of our citizens."
