AWS: Optimizing Enterprise AI Agent Adoption with 'Bedrock AgentCore'

Supporting Stable Deployment of AI Agents
Enhancing Security and Reliability with Security Hub

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is helping companies adopt artificial intelligence (AI) agents through 'Amazon Bedrock AgentCore.' The company is also providing security solutions to address security threats triggered by generative AI.

On the morning of August 19, AWS held a press briefing at its Gangnam-gu office in Seoul to introduce its latest generative AI and security technology strategies, unveiling the agent AI development service 'Bedrock AgentCore' and the AI-powered developer tool 'KIRO.'

Youngjun Choi, Data and Artificial Intelligence Specialist Solutions Architect (SA) Leader, who presented at the event, explained that Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is "a service that enables developers to use reliable and secure agents from proof of concept to actual deployment environments."

Bedrock AgentCore, which AWS unveiled at the New York Summit in July, is a service designed to help rapidly and reliably deploy and operate AI agents. It employs a modular approach that allows requirements to be gradually implemented while maintaining existing code. The service also provides development flexibility by supporting open-source frameworks and custom AI agent frameworks.

According to AWS, companies are nearly doubling their investments in AI agents. Gartner reports that while less than 1% of enterprise software included AI agents last year, this figure is expected to rise to 33% by 2028. It is also projected that 15% of routine work decisions will be autonomously made by AI agents.

Several cases of improved work efficiency through AI agent adoption were introduced. Moody's reduced the time required for financial analysis from one week to just one hour after implementing AI agents, and IT services company Cognizant automated mortgage compliance work, increasing productivity by approximately 50%.

The integrated development environment (IDE) tool for developers, 'KIRO,' was also introduced. KIRO embeds AI agents within the IDE where developers write programming code, allowing AI to convert natural language requirements into system designs. It also automatically performs testing and optimization of the written code.

Eunsu Shin, Senior Security Specialist Solutions Architect (SA) at AWS, who presented after Choi, shared insights from the 're:Inforce 2025' security conference held in June. Shin stated, "The main message from the re:Invent keynote was that everything starts with security," adding, "This conference also included topics on culture and community, meaning that security has been integrated into the culture."

With the advent of generative AI, security threats to companies are increasing every year, as AI is being misused for cyberattacks and other malicious purposes. According to a survey conducted by Deloitte, 75% of respondents said they plan to increase security investments due to the emergence of generative AI.

Shin explained that security in the generative AI environment requires five scopes: consumer apps, enterprise apps, pre-trained models, fine-tuned models, and self-trained models.

He emphasized that AWS has established integrated security through its enhanced Security Hub. The AWS Security Hub provides visibility across the AWS environment and utilizes advanced analytics to identify key elements.

Shin also cited a customer case, stating, "Bithumb reduced its security inspection time by more than 90% by leveraging AWS's One For Mand service and Security Hub features."
