Cheongsong County Launches Second Half-Year Crackdown on Cheongsong Sarang Currency Distribution

Cheongsong County, North Gyeongsang Province, will conduct a comprehensive inspection campaign to prevent the illegal distribution of Cheongsong Sarang Currency from August 18 to September 30.

This crackdown is being implemented to eradicate illegal circulation, as the issuance and distribution of Cheongsong Sarang Currency have expanded due to a 20% special discount event and livelihood economic recovery coupons.

To this end, the county has organized an inspection team consisting of five members in one group and plans to collaborate with the Cheongsong Sarang Currency system operator and sales agency representatives.

Additionally, a reporting center for illegal distribution will be operated at all times, and the county will actively promote awareness among affiliated merchants to establish a sound distribution order.

The main targets of the inspection include: ▲ cases where affiliated merchants operate in restricted business sectors ▲ acts of accepting gift certificates without the sale of goods or provision of services ▲ proxy exchange of gift certificates that have been fraudulently accepted by individual merchants ▲ accepting gift certificates through transactions that exceed actual sales amounts ▲ and cases where merchants repeatedly purchase and exchange gift certificates under another person's name.

For affiliated merchants caught during the inspection, measures will be taken according to the severity of the illegal distribution, based on relevant laws such as the "Act on the Promotion of Local Gift Certificates" and the "Subsidy Management Act." These measures include ▲ correction and recommendations ▲ cancellation or suspension of merchant registration ▲ recovery of unjust gains ▲ and imposition of fines. In addition, if serious illegal distribution is suspected, the county plans to request a police investigation.

County Governor Yoon Kyunghee stated, "In order to revitalize the local economy through the issuance of Cheongsong Sarang Currency, it is essential to first establish a sound distribution order. We will enhance the credibility of our policy through continuous monitoring, and I ask for the active cooperation of residents and small business owners."
