Gyeonggi Province will host the '2025 Gyeonggi International Webtoon Fair' at KINTEX in Goyang from September 18 to 21.
Now in its seventh year, the event is the largest webtoon expo in Korea. It consists of a 'B2C Exhibition' for the general public and a 'B2B Business Meeting' for business matching and consultations.
The B2B business meetings, held on September 18 and 19, will feature 85 domestic webtoon-related companies, including Naver Webtoon and Kakao Entertainment, as well as 75 domestic and international buyers, such as Crunchyroll (Japan) and Bilibili Comics (China).
At the B2C exhibition from September 19 to 21, a total of 130 participants-including webtoon studios, platforms, secondary content producers utilizing IP, as well as individual and amateur creators-will gather in one place.
Unlike previous editions, which focused mainly on companies, this year’s fair will be an open-format event where students and aspiring creators can also freely set up their own booths and participate.
A variety of side events will be offered, including the 'Webtoon Golden Bell' quiz for visitors, a special program by YouTuber 'Manhwa Sunbae,' and lectures by popular webtoon artists.
Kang Jisook, Director of the Content Industry Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Webtoons are the pride and core of K-Content," and added, "Considering the reality that it is difficult to seize overseas opportunities without going through major platforms, the Gyeonggi International Webtoon Fair will serve as a strong supporter for small and medium-sized webtoon studios and creators."
