On August 18, KT's budget phone brand GoGoMobile announced the launch of the 'Safe-iPhone,' a device that allows parents to manage their children's smartphone usage more safely.
Unlike existing kids' phones, the Safe-iPhone notifies parents in real time when their children attempt to access harmful content, enabling parents to remotely block access quickly and easily from their own smartphones.
By default, not only can parents block access to social media channels such as Instagram, TikTok, and KakaoTalk, but they can also block specific YouTube channels individually. In addition, general apps can also be controlled on a per-app basis for both access and usage. Parents can also remotely restrict their children's data usage, preventing indiscriminate data consumption. This differentiates it from previous kids' phones, and it also allows parents to track their child's real-time location, ensuring their safety.
The 'Safe-iPhone' is released with the program (app) pre-installed on Samsung smartphones through an official partnership with Samsung Electronics, and customers can receive after-sales service from Samsung Electronics. The device can be purchased through partner carriers. For families whose children already use a smartphone, the app can be purchased separately without buying a new device, and parents can also control the app remotely from their own iPhones (Apple) as well.
