Total of 20 Vehicles Provided to Support Vulnerable Communities

SPC Group Expands Support for Food Delivery Vehicles to Food Bank

On August 19, SPC Group announced that it has donated two refrigerated trucks for food delivery to the Korea National Council on Social Welfare's National Food Bank and pledged to provide an additional 10 vehicles over the next five years. Starting with the donation of six vehicles in 2023 and two more last year, SPC Group has supported a total of 10 vehicles so far, and the total number will reach 20 with these new commitments.

The Food Bank is a social welfare organization that operates through more than 440 regional hubs, receiving donations of food and daily necessities and distributing them to vulnerable groups. Many of the Food Bank's delivery vehicles are outdated, resulting in diminished refrigeration and freezing capabilities and frequent breakdowns, which have made reliable deliveries challenging.

To help ensure that the Food Bank can deliver food safely and fresh, SPC Group signed a business agreement in October 2022 and has since provided new vehicles annually. On this day, SPC Group also loaded 2,000 loaves of bread onto the donated vehicles for delivery. The donated vehicles will be deployed to Suncheon in South Jeolla Province and Buan in North Jeolla Province.

Since the launch of the Food Bank initiative in 1998, SPC Group has been actively donating food. In addition to its nationwide business locations, franchisees of Paris Baguette, Baskin Robbins, and Dunkin are also actively participating by donating bread, donuts, and ice cream. SPC Group has donated an average of 16.9 billion KRW annually to the Food Bank, with cumulative donations reaching 327 billion KRW.

SPC CEO Do Seho stated, "As a food company, SPC Group feels a strong sense of responsibility to help address the issue of food insecurity among those in need, which is why both our company and our franchisees are donating to the Food Bank. We hope this vehicle donation will support the work of Food Bank staff and lead to even more smiles among our neighbors."
