"Preparing for a November Release"
The group BLACKPINK will release a new album this November, marking their first album in three years and two months since their second full-length album "Born Pink" in September 2022.
Yang Hyun-suk, executive producer of YG Entertainment, announced on the official blog on August 18, "BLACKPINK members and their dedicated producers are working hard," adding, "We will do our best to release the album in November."
BLACKPINK is currently on their world tour "DEADLINE." Starting in Goyang, they are scheduled to perform 31 shows in 16 cities around the world. On August 15 and 16 (local time), they held their first-ever solo concert as a K-pop girl group at Wembley Stadium in the UK, drawing 140,000 fans over two days and reaching the peak of their tour.
After the London concert, BLACKPINK took a brief break. They plan to focus on working on the new album for two months before resuming their tour, which will start with a concert in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on October 18.
Their latest single "JUMP," released last month, achieved success on global charts. It ranked high on the UK's Official Singles Chart Top 100 and the US Billboard Hot 100, proving its popularity, and continues to be a hit in clubs worldwide.
Before resuming group activities, the members' solo activities also drew attention. All BLACKPINK members were nominated for "Best K-Pop" at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) to be held in New York in September. In particular, Ros? proved her solo success by being nominated in eight categories with her hit song "Apartment."
Meanwhile, YG Entertainment recorded consolidated sales of 100.4 billion won in the second quarter of this year, representing an 11.6% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating profit turned positive at 8.4 billion won, and net profit for the period reached 11.2 billion won.
