According to Hong Kong Wen Wei Po on August 17, Jet Li shared a photo on social media showing himself in a hospital gown lying in a hospital bed, along with a message stating, "Recently, I experienced yet another unexpected ordeal."

In the released photo, Jet Li is seen lying in bed with his eyes closed. He did not disclose any details regarding his specific illness or the reason for his hospitalization.

The news quickly drew significant attention online. Many fans expressed their wishes for his recovery, saying, "I hope you regain your health" and "We support your recovery."

Jet Li, who has long suffered from work-related injuries due to years of martial arts and action film shooting, was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in 2013. Since then, rapid weight gain due to side effects from medication, as well as symptoms such as exophthalmos and swelling in the neck area, have fueled ongoing rumors about his health. Speculation about his condition has persisted, especially due to noticeable changes in his appearance.

After appearing in the 2018 film 'Mulan,' Jet Li took a break from acting for some time but returned last year in the martial arts film 'The Hidden Blade.' Recently, he has dispelled rumors of serious illness by appearing at various official events and sharing updates through social media. At his eldest daughter's wedding last year, it was reported that he gifted an electric car worth approximately 300,000 yuan (about 5.8 million won), which also became a topic of interest.

A longtime Buddhist, Jet Li has also been seen at temples and Buddhist events. In 2022, he traveled to Nepal with his wife and daughter for Buddhist practice, and was spotted praying in Lhasa, Tibet. In 2023, when rumors of his death spread, he held a fan signing event and personally reassured fans of his good health, putting the rumors to rest.

Born in Beijing, China in 1963, Jet Li trained in martial arts as a child and competed as a Wushu athlete. He rose to stardom with the 1982 film 'Shaolin Temple' and went on to establish himself as an action star through numerous martial arts films, including the 'Once Upon a Time in China' series, 'Hero,' 'Swordsman,' and 'The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber.'
