Jeju Special Self-Governing Province is conducting the 2025 Eulji Exercise throughout the entire island from August 18 to 21, over a period of four days.
The Eulji Exercise is a nationwide emergency preparedness drill conducted once a year. It is organized at the government level to review and improve emergency response plans in the event of a national emergency, such as war or other crises, and to ensure proficiency in wartime mission procedures, with the goal of safeguarding national security and protecting the lives and property of citizens.
On the first day of the exercise, August 18, Jeju Province conducted an unannounced emergency assembly for all public officials, converted its administrative organization into a wartime structure, and established and operated a comprehensive wartime situation room.
On August 18 at 10 a.m., Governor Oh Younghun presided over the initial situation briefing meeting for the Eulji Exercise at the underground Chungmu Situation Room of the provincial government building. He is also scheduled to attend the province's main drill at the Samdasoo Plant on August 20, where he will assess the joint emergency response capabilities of civilian, government, military, police, and fire authorities.
