Sejong City Secures 2.6 Billion KRW in Special Grants from Government

Special grants will be used to enhance public safety and improve the convenience of daily life for citizens.

On August 17, the Sejong City government announced that it had secured a special grant of 2.6 billion KRW from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

The selected projects include: ▲ Installation of odor reduction equipment at the second automatic waste collection facility (500 million KRW), ▲ Nighttime environment improvement on Saenaero in Jochiwon (500 million KRW), ▲ Establishment of two underground roadway automatic barrier systems (600 million KRW), ▲ Installation of manhole fall prevention facilities in Jochiwon-eup (100 million KRW), ▲ Maintenance and reinforcement of Miho Bridge (500 million KRW), and ▲ Maintenance and reinforcement of Songhak Bridge (400 million KRW), totaling seven projects.

At the second automatic waste collection facility located in Dodam-dong, odor reduction equipment will be installed to improve the residential environment around the collection site and create a more pleasant living space. The Saenaero section, stretching from the intersection in front of IBK Bank in Jochiwon-eup to the Nam-ri roundabout, will be developed as a 'local specialty street' by installing lighting designed with local characteristics and inspired by the shapes of Korean consonants and vowels.

Noh Jinwook, the budget officer, stated, "The secured special grant will play an important role in further improving the living conditions of local residents and making Sejong a safer and more livable city. We will continue to work closely with the central government to secure necessary funding and do our best to provide tangible benefits to our residents."
