Based on an understanding of the characteristics of media use during adolescence, an educational program was held to teach parents how to guide their children in using media in a healthy manner.

The Sejong Youth Counseling and Welfare Center announced that it conducted a "Media Parent Education" session on the 16th at the Dajeongdong Complex Community Center for youth guardians, aiming to educate them on how to guide adolescents in their media usage.

The Media Parent Education program is designed to help guardians instruct their children on healthy media habits. During the session, participants learned methods for guiding their children to use media responsibly, parenting attitudes for resolving conflicts that arise during the guidance process, and shared challenges they have faced while supervising their children's media use. The session also provided an opportunity for participants to discuss potential solutions with other guardians.

Kim Kansoon, Director of the Center, stated, "Since the role of parents is crucial in improving adolescents' ability to regulate their media use, a harmonious relationship between parents and children is also of great help," adding, "I hope this education helps restore relationships with children and greatly assists in guiding their media use."

The Youth Counseling and Welfare Center is currently operating a variety of programs for adolescents who are struggling to regulate their media use. For more information about the programs or for other inquiries, please refer to the Center's website or contact the Youth Counseling and Welfare Center directly.
