According to the military unit on August 15, a civilian employee in his 30s, referred to as Mr. A, who works at an Army reserve forces training unit in South Gyeongsang Province, had been secretly living in the office since January of last year.

Mr. A is accused of using the office space for personal purposes, such as sleeping on the office sofa and doing laundry, after his colleagues left work. He continued this lifestyle until April of this year, when he was assigned a single-person dormitory following a housing review by the unit.

During an internal audit prompted by a tip-off, Mr. A reportedly stated that he did so "due to financial difficulties at home."

An Army official stated, "The case was recently referred to the legal office for further investigation, and we plan to take action in accordance with relevant regulations based on the results."
