Miryang Sexual and Domestic Violence Counseling Center Holds Violence Prevention Education for Children and Adolescents

Strengthening Safety Skills Through Participatory Programs
Such as Golden Bell and Self-Defense Training

The Sexual Violence and Domestic Violence Integrated Counseling Center of Miryang City, Gyeongnam, held a violence prevention education program on August 14 at the Miryang Culture and Sports Center for 340 children and adolescents from 15 local children's centers in the city. The program, titled "Safety Is My Right, This Is Lucky Biki," aimed to raise awareness about violence prevention.

This education program was organized to help children and adolescents recognize the seriousness and dangers of digital sex crimes that can occur in digital environments, and to strengthen their ability to protect themselves.

The event was divided into two parts. The first part included: △ violence prevention education (focused on digital sex crimes and domestic violence), △ an OX quiz (on the topic of digital sex crimes), and △ the Lucky Biki Golden Bell "Sound the Alarm for Safety." The second part featured △ self-defense training and △ the Magic Healing Concert (including a laser show), which increased engagement and participation in the program.

The event was supported by the Miryang City Women's Association Council, the Miryang City Local Children's Center Council, MG Miryang Central Saemaeul Geumgo, and the Miryang Regional Council of the Ministry of Justice's Youth Crime Prevention Committee, all of whom contributed to the smooth operation of the event.

Director Heo Haeseon stated, "Through this education, I hope that children and adolescents will be able to recognize the dangers of violence on their own and develop the capacity to put this awareness into practice in their daily lives." She added, "We look forward to the entire local community participating in creating a safe environment."

A city official said, "It is most important for children to know their rights and develop the ability to protect themselves," and added, "We will continue to actively support violence prevention activities to make Miryang a safer city."
