Cha Jonghwan and Choi Doseon Receive New Farmer Award Main Prize
Sacheon City in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 14th that Yonghyeon NongHyup and Sacheon Livestock NongHyup both received the Grand Award simultaneously at the NongHyup 64th Anniversary Ceremony.
Additionally, the couple Cha Jonghwan and Choi Doseon from Jeongdong NongHyup were honored with the main prize of the New Farmer Award.
The Grand Award is NongHyup’s highest honor, presented by the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation after a comprehensive evaluation of the central federation, its affiliates, and local agricultural and livestock cooperatives for their contributions to the local community, unity and harmony, and exemplary service.
Yonghyeon NongHyup and Sacheon Livestock NongHyup have taken the lead in expanding practical benefits for members, pioneering new markets for agricultural and livestock products, and revitalizing local food direct stores. They have also worked to prevent livestock diseases and strengthen quarantine measures, enhance the competitiveness of livestock brands, and stabilize the management of livestock farms.
The New Farmer Award is a prestigious honor organized by the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation and sponsored by the government. It is given to farmers who embody the spirit of self-help, cooperation, and innovation in the new farmers’ movement, and who contribute to enhancing agricultural competitiveness and developing the local community.
Cha Jonghwan and Choi Doseon were highly recognized for their efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of eco-friendly agricultural products and share advanced technologies while cultivating mushrooms in Jeongdong-myeon.
Meanwhile, the NongHyup 64th Anniversary Ceremony was held on the 13th at the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation’s headquarters.
A representative from Yonghyeon NongHyup and Sacheon Livestock NongHyup stated, "This award is the result of the trust and cooperation of our members and the local community. We will continue to focus on field-oriented management to strengthen agricultural competitiveness, contribute to regional development, and build a cooperative that grows together with farmers."
