Dong-Eui University Promotes Korean Culture in Taiwan with 34-Member Global Volunteer Group Dispatched

Dong-Eui University (President Han Suhwan) conducted overseas volunteer activities at its sister university in Taiwan during the summer vacation, introducing Korean culture.

From August 3 to August 10, a total of 34 participants, including 31 students and 3 faculty members, took part in the volunteer program held at Chienkuo Technology University in Changhua City, Taiwan. The Dong-Eui University Global Volunteer Group provided a variety of cultural education programs for local students and residents, including Korean language, Taekwondo, Korean cuisine, and K-POP dance.

They also organized a traditional games sports festival with participants, featuring activities such as "Round and Round," "The Mugunghwa Flower Has Bloomed," and three-legged races, as well as a Taekwondo demonstration and departmental presentations, creating opportunities for exchange between students from both countries.

Park Seonghoo, a student who participated in the volunteer group, said, "I was proud to see local students show great interest in Korean culture and actively participate. It was an opportunity for mutual learning and growth, going beyond simple volunteering."

Since 2001, Dong-Eui University has continued its overseas volunteer activities in countries such as China, Thailand, and Indonesia. The program, which had been suspended due to COVID-19, resumed last year. The university stated, "We will continue to expand opportunities for students to strengthen their global competencies and engage in social contribution activities."
