The signing ceremony, which took place the previous day at the Pyeongtaek headquarters, was attended by Hwang Kiyoung, CEO of KGM, Roh Chul, Chairman of the Labor Union, and other negotiation committee members. The event included the signing of the agreement and reaffirmed a commitment to fostering a collaborative labor-management culture.
Both labor and management agreed that maintaining a stable labor-management relationship is crucial for protecting jobs and increasing sales volume based on consumer trust. Through mutual concessions, they were able to resolve their differences.
KGM began the negotiation process with an initial meeting in June and, after 15 rounds of talks concluded on July 30, reached a tentative agreement that included a base wage increase of 75,000 won and a PI (production incentive), totaling 3.5 million won. On July 31, the agreement was finalized with 64.5% (1,897 out of 2,941) of union members voting in favor. With this agreement, KGM has successfully concluded wage negotiations without any labor disputes for 16 consecutive years since 2010.
