Yeosu City in South Jeolla Province announced on the 11th that it carried out promotional activities, including informing the public about the preparation status of the '2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo,' at the '6th Island Day' event held in Wando from the 7th to the 10th.
During the event, the city operated a promotional booth for the '2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo,' providing information on major content and advance ticket discount benefits. In particular, the city encouraged visitors' interest through a social media channel follow verification event.
On August 8, Mayor Jung Kimyung attended a special meeting of the Island Region Local Government Heads' Council, where he introduced major island-related events to be held in Yeosu in the second half of the year and requested cooperation from local governments for the successful hosting of the '2026 World Islands Expo.'
At the closing ceremony held on August 10, Mayor Jung stated, "I congratulate you on the successful conclusion of the 6th Island Day in Wando," and added, "Next year's 7th Island Day will be held in Yeosu, just about a month before the '2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo,' and we will make it a successful event that everyone can relate to."
