Unique Experience at the 'Daejeon 0 O'Clock Festival'
Make Cotton Candy by Pedaling a Tashu Bicycle
Promoting Eco-Friendly Transportation to Youth
Free Tashu Keyrings Produced by Workers with Disabilities
A booth where visitors can make their own cotton candy by powering a cotton candy machine with a bicycle has become a sensation at the '2025 Daejeon 0 O'Clock Festival'.
During the festival, the 'Making Cotton Candy by Riding a Tashu Bicycle' experience is being held at the Jungangno Station event booth. This unique activity, primarily targeting students, allows participants to pedal a bicycle to make cotton candy themselves.
Daejeon City organized this experience booth to naturally convey the value and fun of bicycles, an eco-friendly means of transportation, to young people.
Participants receive a free 'Tashu Keyring' made from eco-friendly materials. The keyrings are produced at Turtle Protection Workshop, a social enterprise employing workers with severe disabilities, with disabled employees directly participating in the production process.
Kim Jongmyung, Director of the Daejeon City Railway Construction Bureau, said, "Through this unique experience of making cotton candy while riding a bicycle, I hope that bicycles will be seen by young people not just as a means of transportation, but as a fun and eco-friendly activity. I also hope that this 0 O'Clock Festival will further increase citizens' interest in Tashu, and that the eco-friendly keyrings featuring Kkumdori and Kkumsuni will become cherished souvenirs that share the appeal of Tashu with the public."
