Full-scale Operation to Begin in the Second Half of This Year

Busan Social Service Center (Director Yoo Kyuwon) is launching the "Dangsingyeotae" neighborhood-based daily support project for Busan, funded by donations from MG Saemaeul Geumgo.

This project was established to address gaps in care for those with mild discomfort or in need of daily support, and to provide a new care service that citizens can experience in their everyday lives.

The primary recipients of the service are socially vulnerable groups such as the elderly, people with disabilities, and pregnant women, but any citizen of Busan can use the service. The main services include: ▲daily support (accompaniment or proxy services for hospital, pharmacy, or government office visits), ▲home visits (grocery shopping, housework, repairs), and ▲other support (accompaniment for outings, errands).

Applications can be made through the Busan Social Service Center website or by phone at each implementing agency. Not only users, but also guardians and implementing agencies can apply.

Four service providers have been selected for each region. In the Dongnae region, Sajik General Social Welfare Center is responsible for Geumjeong-gu, Dongnae-gu, and Yeonje-gu. In the Sasang region, Hwamyeong General Social Welfare Center covers Gangseo-gu, Busanjin-gu, Buk-gu, and Sasang-gu. In the Jung-gu region, Watch General Social Welfare Center is in charge of Dong-gu, Saha-gu, Seo-gu, Yeongdo-gu, and Jung-gu. In the Gijang region, Unbong General Social Welfare Center supports Gijang-gun, Nam-gu, Suyeong-gu, and Haeundae-gu.

Director Yoo Kyuwon stated, "This project is meaningful in that it supplements the limitations of existing care services and realizes customized, community-based services for citizens. We will continue our efforts to fill gaps in care and to develop this initiative beyond one-time support into a sustainable local social service system."
