Eric Serra to Hold Special Concert at Jecheon International Music & Film Festival The 21st Jecheon International Music & Film Festival (JIMFF) will host Eric Serra's special concert for the first time in Korea on September 6 at the Jecheon Arts Center. Jecheon International Music & Film Festival

The 21st Jecheon International Music & Film Festival (JIMFF) announced on August 11 that it will host a special concert by French film composer Eric Serra, recipient of the Jecheon Film Music Award, for the first time in Korea.


This performance is part of the festival's music concert program, "JIMFF Special Choice," and will be held over three days from September 6 to 8 at the Grand Theater of the Jecheon Arts Center. Eric Serra will perform live music from his most notable works, including "Subway" (1985), "The Big Blue" (1988), "L?on: The Professional" (1994), and "The Fifth Element" (1997), together with his own band.


Serra has received the C?sar Award for Best Music at the French C?sar Awards for works such as "The Last Battle" (1983) and "Nikita" (1990), and has worked across both European and Hollywood film industries, including serving as the music director for "GoldenEye." On September 5, the day before the concert, a free master class exploring Serra's musical world and creative process will be held at the Community Art Center of the Jecheon Arts Center.


This year's "JIMFF Special Choice" program also includes "The Cinema," a concert featuring violinist Danny Koo and bandoneon player Ko Sangji performing newly arranged film music, as well as an orchestra concert celebrating the 60th anniversary of the release of "The Sound of Music." The Chungcheong Philharmonic Orchestra will perform major pieces such as "Do-Re-Mi" and "Edelweiss" on the "The Sound of Music" stage.


The 21st Jecheon International Music & Film Festival will take place throughout Jecheon from September 4 to 9. The opening ceremony will be held at Jecheon Airfield, and films will be screened at venues including JIMFF Cinema, Haso Life Culture Center Sanchaek, Jecheon Culture Center, and Jecheon Visual Media Center Bom. "One Summer Night" will be held at Jecheon Airfield, while the "Camping & Music Festival" will take place at Uirimji Solbat Park and Jecheon Airfield.
